Betonbau reinforces its location in Bavaria

The festive opening of the new plant near Ingolstadt

For more than 45 years Betonbau GmbH has been the leading manufacturer of technical installation buildings made of reinforced concrete in the sectors of electrical energy and gas, railways and transport as well as drinking water processing and drainage. A path of success which has been directly connected with the Barvian location since 1982.

During the course of the last ten years the production possibilities could not cope with the general requirements as well as its own technical requirements in particular. With the entry of the Ulmer Schwenk Zement KG as partner, a chance was opened in 2006 to react to this challenge. In the summer, the partners of the Betonbau Group made the decision to build a completelly new plant in the area of Ingolstadt instead of trying to keep extending the current location which was itself hardly feasible.

In less than one year this challenge at the new location at the north of the town became a reality. With an investment, which counts as being the largest in company history, Betonbau clearly identifies itself, within the scope of company strategy, with its Bavarian location. The new plant optimally copes with the increasing complexities of products as well as being able to meet the ever increasing demands on product environment. Due to the fact that the previous company location was in the vicinity, the company staff were able to completely move without difficulty. Since 01.02.2008 the production has been running successfully.

On 10th April, Gerhard Hirth and Heinz Heiler, company partners, officially opened the plant. Guests from politics as well as hundreds of guests and business partners from the energy and water management sector were able to gain an immediate impression into the future possibilities of the company - with in-depth description. In the afternoon special forums to both areas concerned current topics: the spectrum ranged from new switch installation standards to drainage disposal with pneumatic pumping plants.

All guests from outside branches had the opportunity, to make a personal tour of the plant in order to gain a direct insight into the new production installation.
